School Sporting Houses
The school is divided into four Sporting Houses following our schools motto "soaring to greater heights" with:
- Kites – Yellow
- Harriers – Green
- Hawks – Blue
- Sea Eagles - Red
There are many opportunities to be involved with your student's sports days and great house rivalry with Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals.
Preparation for the above Carnivals includes Aquatic Programs for Swimming Carnival, Badge Running for cross country and Athletics training for the Track & Field Carnival.
Badge Running
Badge Running occurs on Monday and Wednesday mornings at 8am for all Students of Arundel. Students run consistently for 15 minutes receive tokens for each lap and this is recorded to give them weekly and annual totals that accumulate until they leave the school. Students receive a Badge that can be ironed onto their school hat to proudly display their achievements at set intervals of 10km, 25km, 50km up to 175km. Badge Running coincides with the cross country season at the end of term 1 and start of term 2.
Athletics Training
The program operates in Term 2 during PE for all Year 4, 5, 6 students and in Term 3 for select students in preparation for the Broadwater District Events. In Term 3, students in Prep, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 participate in lead up activities and participate in a modified sports day event. Training provides the students with the opportunity to learn correct running, jumping and throwing techniques while building fitness with the program's activities.
