Core Curriculum
The Key Learning areas of English and Mathematics are planned, taught and assessed separately although aspects of literacy, numeracy and technology are integrated across all key learning areas.
Transdisciplinary tasks are developed using Essential Learnings from the key learning areas of Science, Studies of Society, the Arts and Health and Physical Education. Languages Other Than English (Japanese) is taught separately as are some elements of the Arts and Physical Education.


Curriculum

The Preparatory Curriculum Guidelines establish the foundation learning areas and an early childhood philosophy, which extends into Years 1-3.

Year 1-7 students study a core curriculum in the key learning areas of English; Maths; Science; Study of Society and the Environment (S.O.S.E.); Health and Physical Education (H.P.E.); The Arts (including performing arts, instrumental music, classroom music and the visual arts); and Technology (computers).
The school’s language other than English (L.O.T.E.) is Japanese and is taught in Years 5-7.

The school is currently refining its’ curriculum plan that details the manner in which the school organises and delivers Education Queensland syllabi, and the Queensland Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Framework. In the main this is achieved through transdisciplinary tasks organised around a central topic or focus, using the concepts of Essential Learnings, Multiple Intelligences and higher order thinking.
